Genre-blending producer and multi-instrumentalist NASAYA delivers a refreshing sound to an often over-saturated industry. Inspired by a vast spectrum of sounds, the rising artist champions jazz, electronic, pop, and classic rock. “PLASTIC STRAW” is a charming new gem from the Reunion Island artist that boasts the mint vocals of former The Voice contestant Tim Atlas. Funky as hell with Daft Punk-esque lyrical accents, this collaborative triumph is drenched in groove. NASAYA’s signature guitar line is the perfect conduit for Tim’s wooing vocals to drive the track home. Loosen up your Saturday with “PLASTIC STRAW.”
TIM ATLAS - COMPROMISED (CHRISTOFI REMIX)
Music, RemixCommentWe love a good remix over here at Beautiful Buzzz. Other music blogs can sometimes be picky about their selections and refuse to post remixes, but we just love it when a producer reimagines a classic track and infuses some new flavor. It’s especially great when they’re able to preserve the essence of what made the original awesome while simultaneously introducing a whole new aesthetic. This latest reimagining comes from two artists who are no stranger to BB: indie soul crooner Tim Atlas and electronic producer Christofi. Both pals from California, Atlas decided to enlist Christofi to deliver his own dance-oriented take on “Compromised” — Atlas’ most popular original to date which has racked up over 13M streams on Spotify. The remix adds lush chords, toe-tapping percussion, and a bright synth lead that readies this track for any dance floor or festival stage. You’ll definitely want to add this one to your party playlists and blast it at your next pregame (or 3am afterparty to annoy the hell out of your roommates if you live in a house like mine).
[PREMIERE] TIM ATLAS - COUNTERFEIT
PREMIERE, Music, Original MixCommentMaster of vintage vibes and soulful swag, the one and only Tim Atlas is back with a new tune just as he prepares to embark on his All Talk! Summer Tour, and we’re excited to have the honor of premiering it for you today on this lovely New Music Friday.
Clocking in at just under three minutes, “Counterfeit” is a short and sweet slice of classic Tim Atlas grooviness. Replete with a sassy bass line, plenty of cowbell, sexy synths, and cheeky gang vocals for good measure—it’s a bouncy toe tapper that’ll have you moving without even realizing it. Tim’s soft and subdued vocals glide above the 80’s rock drums, nostalgic synths and jazzy guitar and bass licks. Like most of Atlas’ music, it transports you back to an earlier era while maintaining an air of contemporary electro-funk of which the likes of Chromeo or Cherub would likely be fans.
Speaking about the track, Tim said:
"We're all guilty of indulging in something when we know we shouldn’t. But we do it anyway because we’re human and we often choose that feeling over what actually makes sense."
